ItineraryDeparts: Sydney 8.15 am - Returns: Approx. 6.15 pm
Experience a gentle off road adventure, a tour that allows time to relax and experience the true essence of the Blue Mountains. The tour leaves Sydney via the Sydney Harbour Bridge and onto Featherdale Wildlife Park for a close up view of one of the best collection of Australian animals. After passing through fertile farmland known as the "fruit bowl" area, the historic early settlement town of Richmond and crossing the Hawkesbury River, we wander along the Bells Line of Road. Breathe in the invigorating scent of the Australian Eucalyptus as we travel into the Burralow Creek National Park, a young river Canyon. A short walk along this trail will reveal towering Eucalypts, Red Gums, Grass Trees and other varieties of Australian Flora. Access to this area is restricted and one of the highlights of our tour. Enjoy the forest canopy with its Kookaburras and the unique songs of the many other wild native birds. Your guide will interpret the Fauna and Flora encountered, Aboriginal history and demonstrate the Didgeridoo. We then travel on to Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens for lunch. Thousands of flowers and a million flavours! The Restaurant is located within the manicured surrounds of Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens. As if it weren't enough to be surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Botanic Garden and its gorgeous flowers, shrubs and trees, Restaurant Tomah sits perched on a ridge overlooking a seemingly endless vista stretching as far as the Hunter Valley and chaperoned by the Blue Mountains themselves. A large terrace and the plate glass windows of the Restaurant interior allow diners to imbibe this glorious view of the Wollemi National Park, but the experience is not limited to a visual one. Mt Tomah is situated in Bilpin on the Bells Line of Road, the quiet side of the Blue Mountains, less than 1.5hrs from Sydney. In an area of World Heritage Wilderness, surrounded by orchards, it is a perfect place to quietly refresh body and spirit. After lunch, soak up magnificent views of Govetts Leap Lookout, then the Jamieson Valley, and the Three Sisters famous rock formation and Scenic Railway optional ( cost not included). Lx1
