Alpine Habitats is a 'Nature Based Eco Tourism Resort', defined by council as; "an ecologically suitable tourist accommodation with onsite waste management and attractions involving support for, enjoyment of, and education about the natural characteristics of the land on which it is located and its surrounding landscape"

Surrounded by the Snow Gum Woodlands of the Thredbo Valley, the Alpine Mountain regions of the Kosciuszko National Park are right at your doorstep.
The Snowy Mountains ski resorts of Thredbo and Perisher Blue are popular for skiing and snowboarding in winter. And once the snow has melted there is fishing, mountain bike riding, bushwalking & waterskiing.

The concept behind Alpine Habitats is to create luxurious holiday accommodation in the NSW Snowy Mountains whilst ensuring that the environmental impact on the area is kept to a minimum.

The Thredbo Valley Distillery, makers of Wild Brumby Schnapps, is located directly accross the raod within easy walking distance. Crackenback Cottage Restaurant and Maze is on the opposite side of Alpine Way about 500 meters away. Jindabyne is a short drive of 10km, Thredbo 23km and the ski tube 7km - that will take you via underground train to Perisher during winter.
In Google Maps - search for Alpine Habitats and that will point you directly to us. Use the "directions" feature in Google Maps to get detailed directions from where ever you are. We are located on the corner of Alpine Way and Wollondibby Road. Our entrance is 110 meters up Wollondibby Road on the left. Driving from Sydney/Canberra - Travel to Jindabyne via Cooma and Berridale. Pass through Jindabyne (straight through both roundabouts) then turn left onto the Alpine Way, about 2.6 km past the last roundabout. This is the Thredbo turn off. Travel approximately 9km then turn left into Wollondibby Road (You will see the road sign 200m prior to turn off). Alpine Habitats entrance is 110 metres up the road and on to your left. If you see the Schnapps Distillery on your left or Crackenback Cottage Restaurant on your right, then you have just missed the left turn into Wollondibby Road. If you happen to find yourself at the National Parks entry gate - you have definitely gone past us! Driving via Thredbo (if you are coming over from Albury way) - travel approximately 22 km past Thredbo and turn right into Wollondibby Road. Alpine Habitats entrance is 110 metres up the road and on to your left.
You will see Crackenback Cottage on you left and the Schnapps Distillery on your right just before the turn off. If you end up seeing Lake Jindabyne and get to a T intersection, you have missed us. There is mobile phone range the whole way and at Alpine Habitats so if you get in to trouble, please give us a call.
