Highlights: - Alice Springs - Kings Canyon
Day 1: Alice Springs
The afternoon is at your leisure. You may like to book an afternoon town tour of Alice Springs. A wide range of Alice Spring's day tour options is available.
Accommodation: Standard Rooms (R,C), Superior Rooms (F) or River Gum Rooms (S), Alice Springs Resort.
Day 2: Alice Springs - Ayers Rock Resort
You will be picked up from your hotel in Alice Springs. Travel south from Alice Springs through the MacDonnell and James Ranges. Your Driver/Guide will provide comprehensive commentary of your surrounds as you pass through the beautiful rugged scenery of the 'outback'. Visit a camel farm where there is time to take a short optional camel ride (own expense) if you wish. Later, stop at Mt. Ebenezer Roadhouse for morning tea (own expense) and the opportunity to purchase locally made Aboriginal art. Pause to view majestic Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. You may wish to book one of the AAT Kings Sightseeing Passes, such as the Y4, which includes touring at Kata Tjuta and Uluru, a delicious barbecue dinner and magnificent Uluru sunrise and sunset (all at own expense).

Day 3: Ayers Rock Resort
A whole day at your leisure to continue with touring or activities (own expense) in and around the National Park and resort.
Day 4: Ayers Rock Resort - Kings Canyon
This morning you have free time to relax or enjoy touring and other activities. Travel through spectacular desert scenery from Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon Resort by luxury coach. Pass through Curtain Springs and view Atila (Mt. Conner). After turning off the Lasseter Highway and onto Luritja Road your Driver/Guide will provide informative commentary about the history of the surrounding cattle stations. Arrive at Kings Canyon Resort before dusk. You may have time to view the sun set behind Carmichaels Crag to finish off the day.

Day 5: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs
This morning make the climb to the rim of the Canyon, where you will be rewarded with marvellous views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness). Continue the 3 hour walk around the canyon with your guide as you hear and learn about the geology and history of this amazing formation. Time permitting, you may wish to descend into the 'Garden of Eden'. An alternative to the rim walk is the more leisurely 1.5 hour walk along the boulder-strewn canyon floor. Return to Kings Canyon Resort for lunch (own expense). There is time for an optional scenic helicopter flight (own expense) to view the canyon from the air. This afternoon travel to Alice Springs, arriving at approximately 6.30pm.

Day 6: Alice Springs
Today is at your leisure. You may wish to book an Aboriginal Cultural tour (own expense) and travel out to the world renowned Alice Springs Desert Park where you will be greeted by a local Aboriginal Guide. See the park from a different perspective as you learn about the traditions of the local Arrente people. Explore the Desert Rivers and Sand Country habitats and learn about survival in this arid country. Visit the Nocturnal House and enjoy reserved seating at the Birds of Prey Presentation. Continue on to the Alice Springs Cultural Precinct where you can view the paintings in the Albert Namatjira Gallery and wander through the Museum of Central Australia which follows the evolution of the local landscape and the creatures that inhabited it.
