Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Darwin
On arrival in Darwin you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 2.00pm). This afternoon join a city orientation tour of Darwin. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner with your Tour Director and travelling companions this evening.

Day 2: Kakadu National Park
We travel deep into the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. We visit Ubirr and view Aboriginal rock art dating back some 20,000 years. A climb to the top of Ubirr is rewarded with superb views of the surrounding wetlands and escarpment country. Stop at the Bowali Visitor Centre and see displays of the varied landscapes of Kakadu. There is time for an optional scenic flight over the wetlands.

Day 3: Kakadu - Katherine
This morning we join a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong, home to a number of estuarine crocodiles. With luck we may see some basking in the muddy shallows. Our local guide will also point out many species of birds that inhabit the wetlands. Departing Kakadu we travel south through the town of Pine Creek to Katherine.

Day 4: Mataranka Thermal Springs
A special highlight this morning is our breakfast cruise through Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. We later stop at Mataranka where there is time for a dip in the thermal springs, which maintain a constant temperature of 34-35°C. Later we have the opportunity to mix with the locals at the historic Daly Creek Hotel.

Day 5: Tennant Creek - Alice Springs
This morning enjoy a tour of the historic gold mining precinct of Battery Hill. Join a local guide on an underground mine tour and experience the life of an early miner. As we travel south there is time for a walk around the precariously balanced Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles) that have been worn smooth by the harsh elements of nature over many thousands of years. Later this afternoon we cross the Tropic of Capricorn and arrive in 'The Alice', where you'll enjoy an orientation tour of this unique outback town.

Day 6: Alice Springs 'Free Time'
You have the day free to relax or explore Alice Springs. You may wish to join an optional 4WD Safari to Palm Valley. You'll travel through the West MacDonnell Ranges to Hermannsburg, renowned for its Aboriginal art collection and then to Palm Valley to see rock formations, white sands and an oasis of rock pools and palm trees. Or perhaps visit the Alice Springs Desert Park to learn about Australia's unique desert marsupials and reptiles. B
Day 7: Kings Canyon Resort
See the sights of Alice Springs including the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air. We stop for panoramic views over Alice Springs from Anzac Hill. This afternoon we leave Alice Springs and travel to Kings Canyon.

Day 8: Kings Canyon - Uluru (Ayers Rock)
For the energetic a guided climb to the rim of Kings Canyon will be rewarded with magnificent views of Watarrka National Park. Alternatively, you may prefer to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk. On arrival at Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park we visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). We walk into Walpa Gorge to appreciate the sheer size of these unusual domes. Enjoy complimentary wine and nibbles as we watch the sunset change the colours of Uluru.

Day 9: Depart Ayers Rock
Your tour concludes this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport to connect with your onward flight. B
