Day 1 Tue.
Launceston, Freedom of Choice Touring, Welcome Dinner
Stay: Launceston, Hotel Grand Chancellor

On arrival into Launceston be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Then join your selected Freedom of Choice Touring activity - choose to visit either Platypus House, Seahorse World or the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre. This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers at a Welcome Drinks and Dinner. Dx1

Day 2 Wed.
East Coast Natureworld, Freycinet National Park
Stay: APT HIGHLIGHT! Freycinet Lodge, located within picturesque Freycinet National Park

Visit the Bridestowe Lavender Farm in lavender flowering season (Dec.-Jan.) and see fields of aromatic purple flowers. Continue through the town of Scottsdale, which services the rich agricultural and forestry region of the north-east. Following the Tasman Highway, enter the temperate rainforests of the Weldborough Pass. Treasured giant myrtles, over 300 years old, stand as sentinels along the journey. Continuing south to Bicheno, visit East Coast Natureworld. See APT's very own Tasmanian Devil, Delilah, then journey to Freycinet National Park and walk along Cape Tourville. Arrive at the renowned Freycinet Lodge where tonight you will enjoy a gourmet barbeque on the deck overlooking magnificent Coles Bay. Bx1 Dx1

Day 3 Thur.
Freycinet National Park, Freedom of Choice Touring, Port Arthur, Crayfeast
Stay: Port Arthur, Comfort Inn, the only hotel in the historic site overlooking the ruins

With Freedom of Choice Touring, today you have the choice of several activities in Freycinet National Park. Exclusive to APT, perhaps cruise to Wineglass Bay and sample some of Tasmania's finest cheeses and sparkling wines sourced locally and served at anchor; or join a guided walk through native bushland to a stunning viewpoint overlooking Wineglass Bay. Alternatively, you might like to join a Bluestone Bay 4WD tour, journeying through bushland to Bluestone Bay's cobbled shore, or experience the beauty of Freycinet from a sea kayak, potentially spotting dolphins and sea eagles. Later, travel through Swansea to Richmond to see the convict-built bridge and quaint Georgian village buildings before arriving in historic Port Arthur. This evening savour the flavours of a Tasmanian speciality - a delicious crayfish dinner, exclusive to APT. Bx1 Dx1

Day 4 Fri.
Port Arthur Historic Site, Hobart

Today explore Port Arthur Historic Site, which features over thirty buildings, ruins and restored period furnished homes set in 40 hectares of landscaped grounds. The Port Arthur penal settlement began life as a small timber station in 1830. Originally a replacement camp, Port Arthur quickly grew in importance within the penal system of the colonies. During your time here, witness the penal colony ruins, explore the chilling prison facilities and cruise on Mason Cove around the Isle of the Dead. Take the opportunity to play the 'Lottery of Life' game or stroll around the colourful gardens. After a day of discovery, continue to Hobart where your tour concludes with an included airport transfer. Bx1
