Itinerary

Day 1 Tue.
Kununurra
Stay: NEW! Kununurra, Country Club Resort

Arrive in Kununurra and transfer to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the local township of Kununurra - the gateway to the Kimberley.

Day 2 Wed.
Mitchell Plateau, Rock Art, Mitchell Falls
Stay: APT EXCLUSIVE! Mitchell Plateau, Ungolan Wilderness Lodge

Fly to Mitchell Plateau and head to APT's exclusive Ungolan Wilderness Lodge for breakfast. Take a guided walk to Mitchell Falls and visit hidden Aboriginal rock art sites, Merten Falls and see ancient Aboriginal burial mounds. Then perhaps swim at Mitchell Falls. You can choose to hike out of the falls or take a short scenic helicopter flight back to base. Tonight, enjoy a three-course dinner in the wilderness, hosted by APT's friendly staff. Bx1 Lx1 Dx1

Scenic Flight to Kununurra, Ord River Cruise

Join a scenic flight into Purnululu National Park and view the extraordinary Bungle Bungle domes from the air. Transfer to APT's exclusive Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge for breakfast, before driving to the northern gorges. Take a scenic walk to Mini Palms Gorge at the heart of the Bungle Bungle Range and follow a rocky creek bed upstream. Ascend to the top platform for an awe-inspiring view into Mini Palms Gorge. Bungle Bungle, Cathedral Gorge

Hike along Piccaninny Creek through the Bungle Bungle domes to Cathedral Gorge. On your way, see striped sandstone beehive domes, creek beds and looming cliffs, evidence of a ancient seabed that used to exist here. Bx1 Lx1 Dx1

Day 6 Sun.
Kununurra

Fly to Kununurra and enjoy the aerial view of Lake Argyle. This afternoon, join a town tour of Kununurra. Bx1

Five Rivers Lookout, El Questro

In Wyndham, see the region's waterways merging with the Indian Ocean at Five Rivers Lookout. Travel to El Questro Wilderness Park. Bx1 Dx1

Choose to relax with a picnic hamper at Emma Gorge Resort, join the Bush Tucker and Historical Tour or cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, a fresh waterhole fringed by tropical vegetation. Bx1 Dx1

Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine, Halls Creek, China Wall
Stay: Halls Creek, Kimberley Hotel

Tour one of the world's largest diamond mines, the Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine, responsible for one-third of the world's diamond supply including the rare pink diamond. At Halls Creek stop to see China Wall which lines the surrounding hills and meets a tranquil river valley. Bx1 Lx1 Dx1

Geikie Gorge Cruise with Ranger
Stay: Fitzroy Crossing, Fitzroy River Lodge

In Geikie Gorge National Park, join the local ranger for a guided cruise of the gorge, with its striking limestone walls created by the gorge's annual flooding during wet season. This is one of Australia's most spectacular waterways and home to an abundance of wildlife, including freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats, wallabies, dingoes and many species of bird. Continue on to Fitzroy Crossing. Bx1 Dx1

Day 11 Fri.
Windjana Gorge, Boab Prison Tree
Two Night Stay: Broome, Cable Beach Club Resort, the only hotel right on Cable Beach

Travel to Windjana Gorge National Park where a short walk leads in to the gorge. See ancient marine fossils embedded in the gorge walls. Look out for freshwater crocodiles and native birds. Inspect the Boab Prison Tree where Aboriginals were held when they resisted European control, and visit Derby's striking circular wharf. Bx1

Day 12 Sat.
Broome, Freedom of Choice Touring, Ocean Sunset, Dine Around Dinner

Choose between a hovercraft flight over the Roebuck Bay mudflats, a Pearl Lugger museum tour or a sunset camel ride on Cable Beach. Enjoy a delicious Dine Around Dinner this evening. Bx1 Dx1

Day 13 Sun.
Broome

Farewell beautiful Cable Beach as your tour concludes with a transfer to the airport. Bx1
